Dear BABA Member:

Over the past decade, many businesses have provided superb support to the British Embassy at Open House Day, our premier public facing event of the year. Once again, the Embassy is offering partnership opportunities to members to promote their businesses at Open House Day taking place on Saturday May 12, 2018.

Last year, British Embassy, once again, was the most popular Embassy, greeting nearly 8,000 members of the public through our gates. Photos from previous year’s Open House can be seen at http://bit.ly/1AcVw7n. Combined, EU embassies received almost 100,000 visitors, including members of Congress and staff, Administration staff and other USG departments and business professionals.

Those wishing to provide Open House Day partnership with the British Embassy can participate in the various ways mentioned below. They are seeking two kinds of support: monetary contributions to help offset costs or in-kind donations of materials/giveaways.  Below are the 2017 partnership tiers designed to fit your business’ needs.

In-kind donations are negotiable depending on type, size and or quantity.

Bronze Partner ($600):
Presence at Open House Day ie handing out brochures in partnership tent.

Silver Partner ($1,500):
Shared table space in partnership tent.

Gold Partner ($2,500):
Own table space in partnership tent a/o advertisement in compound (banners hung up in tent or around grounds).

Platinum Partner ($4,500):
Table space at Open House (all of above) and advertisement in Embassy marketing materials (online and printed).

VVIP Partner ($15,000):
Sole brand on Embassy promotional item, table space, more recognition on signage, and promotional work more tailored to partner’s needs.

BABA and British Embassy Pub Quiz Night

Hi BABA Young Professionals,

Join us for a fun evening pub quiz that will be a great chance to demonstrate your cleverness or catch up with new and old friends over drinks. BABA YP members, BABA YP prospective members, and British Embassy staff are welcome to attend. If you’d like to attend but not participate in the quiz, that is also welcome.

PRICE: Complimentary pizza will be provided by BABA (first come, first eat). Drinks not included, there will be a cash-only bar, please bring small denominations.

Those who would like to attend need to RSVP here by Tuesday, 15 May.

All attendees must be over 21 years old and will need to show a government-issued photo ID at the British Embassy gates. We’ll plan to have people break-out into small teams (max 6 people), and we’ll have four rounds of questions, with a fifth round as a tie-breaker.

No donations are required, but it is encouraged as this pub quiz is to raise awareness about Red Nose Day, a UK charity that supports reducing poverty and helping children around the world.

We will also have Christine Manula from Comic Relief USA in attendance, who will be collecting donations and is available if you have any questions about how to get involved with the charity.

Red Nose Day:

Comic Relief launched in the UK with the goal of using comedy to raise money and help relieve poverty. The movement continues to grow with every year. Globally, Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion since its launch in 1988. This is its third year fundraising in the US, and they’ve managed to raise in these years $100 million to help children around the world.

In the US, they partner with Walgreens to sell red noses and raise awareness through a televised special night of prime-time programming on NBC on 24 May.
