"UK and US Insolvency Issues"

The event is focused on the status of insolvency in the US and UK. Covid has greatly impacted certain industries and insolvency has been a topic of focus since the beginning of the pandemic. However, actual insolvency issues have developed quite differently than expected in many markets. This panel will be a combined group of US and UK insolvency practitioners sharing experiences and expectations for the near future.
Jeffrey L. Tarkenton, Partner, Womble Bond Dickinson
Jeff has been a partner at Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP in Washington D.C. since joining the firm in the 1990’s and has 40 years of experience with all facets of bankruptcy law. After graduating from from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary he spent the following two years clerking for the Honorable Blackwell N. Shelley, Jr., of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Easter District of Virginia. During his career, Jeff has chaired the Board of Governors of the Bankruptcy Section of the Virginia State Bar (1998-1999), has chaired the Subcommittee on Partnership and Limited Liability Entities in Bankruptcy of the Business Section of the American Bar Association (1998-2002), has served on the Executive Committee of the Walter Chandler American Inn of Court in Washington, D.C. (2002-2004) and has served on the Advisory Board of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Views from the Bench Seminar since 2001. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the fields of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, Litigation – Bankruptcy since 2007 and in Washington D.C. Super Lawyers since 2009.
